AMHA Code of Conduct

AMHA Code of Conduct Form (PDF Format)

Arnprior Minor Hockey dedicates itself to the advancement of minor hockey for all individuals through progressive leadership by ensuring meaningful opportunities and enjoyable experiences in a safe sportsmanlike environment.

Arnprior Minor Hockey has adopted this "Code of Conduct" in which all members are expected to follow. The intent of this "Code of Conduct" is to maintain a fun, pleasurable experience for all who attend any function under the AMHA umbrella.

The Arnprior Minor Hockey "Code of Conduct" follows the guidelines set forth in the ODHA/ODMHA Abuse and Harassment Policies and Procedures.

Arnprior Minor Hockey "Code of Conduct" simply places an emphasis on respect:

  1. Respect the game.
  2. Respect the rules.
  3. Respect the opponents.
  4. Respect the Coaches, Officials, Parents, Executives, Players, Arena Staff, Volunteers and their decisions.
  5. Respect the facility.
  6. Maintain self-control at all times.
Arnprior Minor Hockey has a screening process in place which includes:
  1. Coach Selection Process
  2. All volunteers are required to complete the "Speak Out" program. This program has been designed to educate one about the abuse and harassment in sport - in particular minor hockey and how to address and ultimately prevent this behaviour from occurring.
  3. Effective 2004, "Volunteer" Police checks are required on all volunteers
  4. Season surveys by the parents and players.
In order to reduce the number of abusive and harassing incidents in hockey, we all have a monumental responsibility to model pro-social behaviours. We are role models for our children and youth, therefore it is vital we act accordingly.

As such, any excessive profanity, harassment, bullying, or aggression directed at a game official, executive member, team official, parent, child, arena staff, or volunteer will not be tolerated and appropriate disciplinary action will be result from these actions.

Appropriate disciplinary action is outlined in the ODHA/ODMHA Abuse and Harassment Policies and Procedures, and follows a strict set of rules and guidelines to ensure confidentiality, neutrality and fairness.

If at any time you feel your child or anyone else is being threatened or harassed, remove yourself from the situation, and immediately contact any member of the AMHA Executive. They will inform you of the proper procedure to initiate the complaint.

Please note that any registration form which is missing a signed "AMHA Code of Conduct Form" will be marked incomplete. Incomplete regisitration forms will not be processed.
